We’ll teach you to fly!

Yes, you can learn to fly radio control aircraft at the TORKS field! You need nothing. We will provide you with all the equipment you need to learn how to fly.

Come to the TORKS field on Thursday at 5:00pm or call 405-812-7303.

If you already know how to fly, all we require for you to fly at the TORKS field is you are already an AMA member. If you are not an AMA member, you can join here: https://www.modelaircraft.org/membership/enroll

TORKS has many AMA in structures, and we are an FAA FRIA.

The Oklahoma Radio Kontrol Society (TORKS) was established in 1963.  We are an Academy of Model Aviation club  (AMA charter 1648) and an FAA FRIA (Global ID # – df40a260-9d2a-4881-bf54-be78dc3371fb)

If you’re a AMA member come fly with us.  You do not need to be a TORKS member.  However, you will need an Oklahoma City Permit.    Go HERE.    Select “Hefner Model Aircraft”.

The field is located in northwest Oklahoma City,  on the South side of Lake Hefner, mid-way between Meridian and Portland Blvd, 1/4 mile east of the Fire Station, off South Lake Hefner Shore Drive.

Come by and see us fly. If you’re an AMA member, bring your AMA card and fly with us. We’re a family-friendly club that holds club Cookouts and Picnics each summer. Check the calendar for dates.

Our Flying field is 12.3 acres in total, including 9 acres of Grass and an asphalt runway 250 feet long by 32 feet wide.

We also have a control line station north of the parking lot.

Be sure to check out TORKS on Facebook .
